fundraising update and event announcement

Our latest online fundraising drive for war resister legal defense is over, clocking in at $1250. It wasn't the mammoth intake we saw earlier this year, when we raised $5000, but it's $1250 we didn't have before, enough to pay for one round in court for one resister. Many, many thanks to everyone who donated - to any of these campaigns.

The difference in the two appeals was mainly down to the recent ChipIn drive not being sent to a large, national, peace-activist mailing list, as the first Fundable drive was. That was a little frustrating for me.

Now and in the future, you can always give to the War Resisters Support Campaign by sending a cheque (or check, we love US money!) to:
War Resisters Support Campaign
Box 13
427 Bloor Street West
Toronto, ON M5S 1X7
Canada

It's legal. I promise.

Meanwhile, funds are also coming in through other sources. If you're in Toronto, the Quakers are hosting a very special evening on behalf of the war resisters. Here are the details.
