Fun fundy fact: in the original Greek text of Revelation, the number of the beast was written using the old Greek numbering notation as χξ&sigma (χ = 600, ξ = 60, σ = 6).
But the oldest existing texts have χισ instead of χξσ. Since &iota = 10, χι&sigma = 616, not 666.
Many scholars studying the history of biblical texts believe that χ&xiσ is a mis-copy of the older texts, probably caused by some smudges making the ι look like a ξ.
BTW, the excellent mathematical blog Good Math, Bad Math has a post about the serious problems with RFK Jr.'s recent article about the Ohio elections. Mark Chu-Carroll, the author of Good Math, Bad Math, does believe that the 2004 election was stolen, but points out that RFK Jr.'s sloppy arguments do more harm than good by providing the Republicans an easily-discredited target, and tarnish others who believe the election was stolen by association.
I am debating whether to write a check for $66.6 to include a tip.
:-D

I love it. And think of all it spawned. It's like the Coke bottle in "The Gods Must Be Crazy". A whole religious iconography founded on an error.

The 30 year fixed mortgage stands at right now 6.66%
But I am not refinancing just to celebrate this milestone. My rate is only 6.125.
Hm. I wonder if it's coincidence that the CSIS/RCMP crackdown on terrorists happened on the weekend. Perhaps something was planned for today?
Speaking of terrorists, let's hope some of the non-elected religious [sic] nuts south of the border don't do anything to bring on the Rapture.

Happy devil day, all! I had a fabulous day -- it was even better than a Friday the 13th.

Thanks Granny!! Fun! :)
If the number in the original text was indeed 616, then the maid service would get only $61.6. She can thank God for the smudges.
She can thank someobody anyway... :)
But tell me, David, did you really write a check for $66.6?
I moved to 666 Spadina not a moment too soon!
