A McCain victory would be a test of the left's continual threats to leave the U.S. upon his election. There were many similar threats made in 2004, and I only know one person who more or less followed through.
1. I did not "threaten" to move to Canada in 2004. My application was filed in 2003. I was leaving no matter who won the so-called election.
2. 11,000 Americans moved to Canada in 2006, a 30-year high.
3. This blog alone links to dozens of people who made the same move. They blog and comment on this blog all the time.
The poster who says "I only know one person" is either grossly underinformed or lying. Try gathering a few facts before making statements about "the left's continual threats".
In addition, many people do want to leave the US but cannot, because they can't afford to emigrate, or don't meet the educational and employment standards for Canada and other countries. Don't assume that (a) an exodus isn't taking place, just because you haven't seen it (how would you?) and (b) everyone else is staying put by choice.
