We've had a major victory!! Today the Federal Court of Appeal ruled unanimously that an immigration officer's decision rejecting US war resister Jeremy Hinzman's application for permanent residence in Canada was "significantly flawed" and "unreasonable".
This is absolutely stunning. The hearing was difficult. Laywer Alyssa Manning advised us not to get our hopes up. And now some justice has prevailed.
Canadian Press story here, and a few more details are here. We are reading through the court decision now.
More soon! HOORAY!
