Blog, write, call, post, email, demonstrate, rally, leaflet. Shout. This is unjust, undemocratic and un-Canadian.
All Chris Teske was requesting from the court was more time. In February and March, three war resisters have important court dates, and those decisions could affect all the resisters' cases. So what's the rush? Chris is (was) working, supporting himself, not a drain on public resources in any way. He is certainly not harming anyone. Why rush him out of Canada, into the hands of the US military?
A stay of deportation would have cost Canada nothing. This negative decision will cost Chris so much.
If you didn't take action on behalf of the resisters yesterday, I urge you to do so today. If you did take action, double your efforts.
I am still waiting to hear about Cliff Cornell and Kim Rivera.
