We had some visitors this morning.
These are our neighbourhood ducks. They hang out and walk around the development. I suppose they live in the nearby Cooksville Creek, although they haven't said.
I was taking pictures through our living room window, and I thought when we went outside, it would scare them away - but no. They stayed long enough for me to get some rice crackers (gluten-free ducks?). Even Tala barking through the backyard gate didn't scare them off.
I love how everyone enjoys seeing animals. Our neighbour was leaving for work, but she sat in her car on the driveway for a long time so as not to startle the ducks. Allan's great-aunt in rural Vermont always tells us what animals have been around her house.
There's something so wonderful about being visited by a wild animal, even for a moment.
