In front of one of the zillion housing developments in Mississauga, there's a sign proclaiming "Manhattan-Style Living". Every time I see it, I chuckle to myself.
Do you think they mean tiny apartments with low ceilings, no kitchen space, and overheated bedrooms where you can't control the heat? Cockroaches? Car alarms going off outside the window? And spending many thousands of dollars each month for the privilege?
On the other hand, if it's Manhattan-style living, residents should be able to walk or hop in a cab, to avail themselves of a vast tapestry of cultural events, fine dining and unique shopping.
Something tells me these Mississauga developers have never lived in Manhattan.
