happy birthday wmtc

We move to canada is one year old today!

Let's see, what was happening in my life on July 11, 2004?

- Our immigration application had been in the queue for five weeks.

- I was spending my days and nights trying to elect John Kerry.

- The Yankees were seven games up in the AL East.

- I didn't know any of you great people.

Today:

- The Red Sox are two games up in the AL East.

- I am 50 days away from moving to Canada.

- We are renting a house in the exact location I wanted.

- I am part of this supportive community.

It's been a big year!

* * * *

Last year at this time:

- About 780 Americans, English, and don't forget Polands, were still alive.

- Some 10,000 Iraqis were still alive.

- Thousands of people still had two legs, two arms and functioning eyes, who are now adapting to life with a permanent disability.

Let's never forget what's at stake.

It's amazing how much can change in just a year, particularly when they seem to fly past. A lot of the changes you mention are due to things you yourself set in motion. It must give you a nice sense of personal empowerment. :)

More changes ahead. Lash yourself to the mast till you're in "port". ;)

Thank you. It truly does. I have always had a sense of creating my own life as opposed to following a pre-ordained path. Whether or not it's accurate, it feels good.

More changes ahead.

That's for sure. Looking too far ahead, it can feel overwhelming. But one step at a time, it's all manageable.

Lash yourself to the mast till you're in "port". ;)

Ha, good advice! Thanks for bringing a smile to my morning.

Happy Anniversary!

Thanks, Niko!

We had the same idea. :) We want to have a big open house / bbq next June. We want to invite all our friends and family from NY (whoever can make it, great) and our new Canadian friends. Hopefully you and Mason will be our neighbors by that time!

Hey, Port Credit, I lived there when I was really tiny [2-3 years old] a few very vague good memories.

Thanks, Kyle! You are one of the original readers.

Freewriter: cool! There's a picture of the house in this post.

Hey L-Girl it's ALPF
Happy Anniversary to WMTC!!!
I haven't been in summer hibernation, I actually have been busy working lately. Sucks when work gets in the way of wasting time reading trivial news articles on the internet.
Here's one...

Man you should be glad your not living here yet. We are having the hottest summer on record in Southern Ontario. It's so gross you can't even breathe properly with all the smog and humidity. Maybe we are getting all the stinky hot weather out of the way this year before you move up.

Thanks, Crabbi! It's something much better than that. :)

And thanks, ALPF!!! You are also an "original" reader. Yeah, my day-job occasionally gets in the way of my emailing, newspaper reading and net surfing. It really sucks.

"Man you should be glad your not living here yet. We are having the hottest summer on record in Southern Ontario. It's so gross you can't even breathe properly with all the smog and humidity."

Yuck! It sounds like a bad summer in NYC, where it's hideous just to go outside.

"Maybe we are getting all the stinky hot weather out of the way this year before you move up."

Could you arrange that please? I'd much appreciate it.

OK, now I'm REALLY curious :)

I hope we'll all be celebrating another anniversary next summer. Maybe the beginning of the end of this administration? Things are heating up for lil Karl and Worthless Leader.
