complicit

Further to our discussion and debate on the media, and whether or not they bear some responsibility for the ignorance of much of the US public...

Both the St. Petersburg Times and The Miami Herald knew about Florida Representative Mark Foley's sexually explicit emails with teenage boys - but didn't report on it.

The FBI knew in July, and several Republican Congresspeople knew as early as 2005. (New pages were apparently warned about Foley for years.)

Their motives for keeping this quiet are obvious. But two Florida newspapers?

This is the same Miami Herald whose reporters accepted bribes from the US government to plant disinformation about Fidel Castro.
