Guess what? Blogger Beta does not support FTP; Beta Blogs can only be hosted by Blogspot. Which means no Beta upgrade for wmtc!
There's a rumour that Blogger is going to pull the plug on FTP hosting altogether. All blogs would have to switch to Beta and use Blogspot addreses, or lose access to the software. This would be pretty stupid on Google's part, as everyone with their own domain name (including me) would immediately switch to Wordpress.
However, this may be an unfounded rumour. According to Blogger, Beta Blogger will eventually support FTP, it just doesn't yet. So I won't worry about it at this point.
This does mean that the wmtc redesign will have to work within the original Blogger templates. Hopefully the talented designer who did the wmtc book will come up with something great within that framework.
