let them stay week 2, day 2: pick up the phone

[Allan Guest Post]

Tuesday, March 17 is National Phone-In Day for "Let Them Stay - Week 2".

Please take five minutes today and phone Minister of Citizenship and Immigration Jason Kenney and Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

Tell both gentlemen that you want them to respect Canadian democracy and the Canadian Parliament by implementing the June 2008 motion to stop deportation proceedings against US Iraq war resisters and allow them to stay.

(You could also remind Kenney's office that since he said less than two weeks ago that democracy is good, maybe he ought to give it a try.)

Minister of Citizenship and Immigration Jason Kenney
Ministry Office: 613.954.1064
Parliamentary Office: 613.992.2235
minister@cic.gc.ca or Kennej@parl.gc.ca

Don't forget Prime Minister Stephen Harper:
613.992.4211
pm@pm.gc.ca

Please cc the opposition party critics on your emails:
Liberal party immigration critic Maurizio Bevilacqua: BevilM@parl.gc.ca
NDP immigration critic Olivia Chow: chowo@parl.gc.ca
Bloc Québécois immigration critic Thierry St-Cyr: StCyrT@parl.gc.ca

At the same time Stephen Harper's minority government is deporting war resisters for refusing to murder innocent people, it is welcoming war criminals with open arms.

International terrorist George W. Bush will be speaking in Calgary on Tuesday evening. Naturally, the public and the media are barred from attending. But if you are nearby, go out and protest.
