to the left coast

I'm off for California, to spend five days with people I love.

My friend AWE (the same friend I visited back here) will pick me up at LAX, and we'll immediately hit the road for Berkeley, where I have a niece, nephew and niece-in-law. We'll all hang out in Berkeley for a few days. Then AWE and I will drive down the coast, back to her house, where there is one more dog than the last time I was there.

I'm excited! Both AWE and I really need this mini-vacation, and we are totally psyched about taking a road trip together.

Here's something new: I'm using my phone (a Blackberry Pearl) for music for the first time. You may recall from this discussion that I actually use a portable CD player rather than an MP3 player. I just don't want to bother transferring music to another medium, when the CDs are already there. But Allan enjoys that kind of thing, and he very sweetly digitized a selection of music for me, and we put as much on the phone as will fit. Now we'll see if the phone will become my portable music delivery system of choice. 21st Century, here I come.

Have a great week, everyone. I'll check in when I can. While I'm gone, please deliver a message to Jason Kenney and Stephen Harper every chance you get.
