Congratulations to the 2005 Chicago White Sox on sweeping the Houston Astros to win the franchise's first championship in 88 years.

Red Sox in 2004 (first since 1918), White Sox in 2005 (first since 1917), and both sweeps! What are the odds? I don't believe in curses, but I do love the coincidence of all these long-suffering fans being delivered into joy in successive years.

The pressure's on the Cubs now!

Was going to say - it's their turn, soon. If they can get a bullpen, that is.

The Sox game was good - but did you see the crowd? Not into it at all - it sounded like an average regular season game, not a World Series game the way the crowd in Chicago made it sound. There was no energy in Houston, almost as if they'd already given up on the team. Some fan support.

Although I must say Bush Sr's shocked face at the final out was the icing on the cake. Looked much the way Jr did when he found out about 9/11. Guess it runs in the family. ;-)

Totally! It almost made up for having to see Babs so many times during the game.
