congratulations - again - to chantal petitclerc

A few days ago, Canadian Paralympic athlete Chantal Petitclerc was named the recipient of this year's Lou Marsh Award, which is given annually to Canada's most outstanding athlete.

Petitclerc won five gold medals in the Beijing Paralympics, one in every women's wheelchair track event. She now owns a total of 14 gold medals over a span of five Paralympic Games, plus five silver and two bronze. Petitclerc hasn't lost in 10 consecutive Paralympic races dating back to 2004 in Athens.

Petitclerc is also, to my mind, one of the most engaging and interesting people I've ever had the pleasure to interview. She is now retiring from the track, and I'll be watching her post-Paralympic career with great interest.

My story about Petitclerc is here; her website here.
