what i'm watching: everyone weigh in on little mosque

So, what did you all think of "Little Mosque on the Prairie"?

I think it has potential. There was some unfortunate overacting, but that's very common in premieres. If you watch re-runs of early episodes of even the best sit-coms - the old Mary Tyler Moore Show, MASH, Seinfeld - there's some pretty dreadful overacting in all of them. As the characters gel, that tends to calm down.

Aside from that, I thought it was funny. It was gutsy to use the mistaken-for-a-terrorist theme front and centre from day one, even including a reference to deportation to Syria. The Toronto jokes and lawyer jokes, although predictable, were funny.

And points for no laugh track! One fine day the laugh track will seem as ridiculous as Lucy and Ricky conceiving Little Ricky while sleeping in separate beds.

Your turn!
