a bust

Two.

That's how many trick-or-treaters we had. Two. The doorbell rang once. There were two somewhat older kids dressed as a cowboy and a cowgirl. The end.

Would anyone like a bucket full of candy?

Yes, I should have asked the neighbours. But there are so many kids in this neighbourhood!

They must all be avoiding us because we're American.

Um, if you just started reading this blog, that's a joke.

Strange, we only had about half the kids this year compared to last. Maybe there's a major demographic shift happening. :)

As for kids coming to your door, houses tend to get a reputation. I wonder if the people who lived there before you didn't celebrate.

Could be. That's why I put out decorations and left the light on. Oh well.

Well, if it makes you feel better, I got zero, zip, nota.

However, my area is still a construction zone, so it's probably being avoided.

My next-door neighbour got the same two kids we did. I won't take it personally.

Kyle, how's the new house? Please tell me you have internet access and phone service.

We got about 50, but we live in a community with a lot of new families.

if those kids had come about an hour later, we could have unloaded all of our candy between the two of them.

"why don't you take 50 pieces and you take the other fifty?"

"um ... okay!"

I'm jealous. Clearly Alberta is more fun. ;-)

ROFL

Don't feel too bad, we only had about 5 people in my new place. Of course I don't have a sidewalk on my side of the road yet...

That just means I have to eat all this candy, it is going to be tough but I will adapt and overcome!

Hey Peter, I missed you in the Alberta discussion & debate.

Have fun eating candy. :)

I didn't get any either! So I went out and took pictures of the doors that DID get visitors...

Yeah, I was on a survival excercise with Air Cadets since Thursday night so I haven't been around to post comments. I will have to review that post when I get home, 98 comments is a little too much to go thru during work!

ALPF Here

We had at least 150+ kids!! It was crazy, I didn't even bother to close my door during large stretches of the evening. We live in pretty closed off survey of newer homes... I even noticed several van loads of kids being dropped off by our park to trick or treat. My kids have our entire dining room table absolutely loaded to overflowing with candy. I told them we are giving some of it away.

We didn't get into it too much, and only spent $10 on decent candy.

We had maybe 20-25 kids.

It was OK though. Better than last time we tried to give candy out.

Too bad your's was a bust. :(

PS - Isn't it funny how everyone with left over candy isn't too bent out of shape about it?

All kids at heart I tell ya!

I'm not too thrilled about it. We've been eating candy for a couple of days, it's starting to be disgusting. I must get rid of it.

Yes, I finally have internet, phone, and cable now.....

Although, at the moment I'm paying rent instead of a mortgage. Because my new place is a condo townhouse, and its not registered yet, I don't really own it. Once that's done, then finally everything will feel complete.

we had 5- woo-hoo!!
But, we live on an acreage so this is not a surprise.
Lots of kids are going to community rec center and mall based events these days. Don't despair! :-)

My grandma gets into the two hundred range. She spends tons of money every year and still has to turn the light off half way through the night because she runs out.
