It seems Bush is put off with us again. He won't return Martin's calls, and Condi's cancelled her visit, all because we said no to a useless missle defence system.Canada should consider itself lucky. No one wants to be seen paying protection money to the schoolyard bully.
The days of "freedom bacon" are probably just around the corner.

Gotta go skating and make a snowfort in the backyard with my kids.
Take Care
Let's hope this little fit of pique represents the extent of US reaction. The world is not a schoolyard and there is no teacher or principal nearby who can protect us from the "bully".
ReplyDeleteStanding up to the US bully can only increase Canada's standing in the schoolyard of the world. Capitulating on the missile defense issue (IMO) would have made Canada look like the US's lackey or, to use the Blair image, lapdog.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Canada has anything to worry about. The worst the US going to do is ignore it. I know there are trade issues, but they predate this.
