manif casserole toronto: bang on a pot at dufferin grove park

Why should Quebecers have all the fun? If you're in the Toronto area, you can join a Manif Casserole tomorrow, May 30. People are gathering at Dufferin Grove Park, 875 Dufferin Street, around 8:00. Bring something to bang on and something to bang with (i.e. a pot and a wooden spoon).

There's a Facebook event here, but it's more important just to be there.

I used to live on Dufferin :-(, about five minutes from Duffering grove. And now I am not even in Canada so I cannot participate.

I will be moving back to Canada, by the way. Provided the revolution isn't over by July I may be able to participate in some pot-banging, perhaps even in Toronto although I will be in London.

I think Icelanders truly developed the possibilities of banging-pots in their revolution of 2008.

In any case, bang an extra pot for me please.

I thought I wouldn't be able to do this, but now our war resisters meeting will end with a Casserole contingent. :)

I hope your moving back to Canada is A Good Thing for you. Also I hope that means we will meet! If you're here by July 7, come to wmtc7!

I am glad to return to Canada and start a new job but sad to leave Korea - I like my job and my co-workers here. I have never lived in London, Ontario, so it will be a new experience. I still am finishing up research here, and have to start getting ready for things in London, which is exhausting. Unfortunately I will arrive in very late July, so I will miss wmtc7, but perhaps I will drop by war resisters at some point. I will go to Toronto every few weeks to do research.

Also, my maternal grandfather was born in his maternal grandparents' house, at a place which is now in the middle of Dundas at Haines road in what was then Dixie, so I will have to make it out to Mississauga one of these days. The story is that the doctor arrived drunk so they had him delivered by a midwife; I hear that there is an LCBO there now.

That seems like a good excuse to have dinner at our place. Come while the weather is pleasant and school is out.
