They explained it more as an acknowledgement of all living things -- of the earth, the air, the water, and our place in this huge web of life -- honouring it all, with an awareness of how little we know, but how important our words and actions might be -- an attitude of humility and gratitude. <br /><br />For some people that might involve giving thanks to a creator.
