They used to call him America's dad, but he turned out to be America's Jimmy Savile.

I read through the entire article yesterday, and it is utterly damning. Cosby's M.O. and victim type was chillingly consistent across decades. The bottle (or sometimes suitcase) of pills he carried was essentially a rape kit (were they just a tactic, or part of a fetish?).

Bill Cosby, serial rapist. As someone who grew up watching Fat Albert on Saturday mornings, that's a phrase I never thought I'd hear.

Same here. It's disturbing and very sad how many people cannot understand that Bill Cosby is not Cliff Huxtable, or Uncle Jello Pudding.

Some clearly don't want to understand, but others actually seem incapable of making that distinction.

Also horrific: how long this took to come to light, how many women suffered because so many people must have been covering for him.

As others have already pointed out, while more than one woman did come forward over the years, it took being called out by another man (the comedian Hannibal Buress) for the story to finally get the attention it deserved.

I was going to say that women not being believed was a slightly different issue, but I suppose it's really all part of the same problem.

Yes, it is part of the same problem.

What I also meant was that rarely, if ever, do repeat crimes like this happen in total secrecy. Think of all the people who knew about pedophile priests. I think the same applies: evil happens when good people do nothing.

Just horrifying and disgusting. Both what he did and how he has gotten away with it. And that he continues to deny it and get away with it. Really sickening.
