this year's mini garden and a mini pupdate

This year's garden-ette is completely out of control! In a very good way. Here's June.

And here's today.

No idea what I'm going to do with all the zucchini. Neither of us bakes, so zucchini bread and muffins are not an option. Guess I'd better start Googling...

This eggplant is tiny right now, but I suppose soon I'll need those recipes, too.

Random Diego pic.

And because you're never too old to be a puppy, Tala recently fell in love with an empty peanut butter jar. No idea why.

You can shred you zucchini and add it (last minute) to just about anything including salad, soups, and stews.

ENJOY!

Mmm, salad sounds good, since zucchini is so moist. I eat a lot of salad and am always looking for easy ways to add more ingreeds. (The more the better.) So that's great. Thanks!

I don't really make soups and stews in the summer, but if I found a recipe for a cold soup that used zucchini, I would try it. I'm on the hunt now! :)

Haha. Nice dog pics. And a nice garden too. So the dogs don't mess with the garden? Noah never destroyed it, but one day, he grabbed a massive tomato and gobbled it all up.

The little fence kept them out. Although Diego does relieve himself on the leaves from time to time!

You can make zucchini ribbons with a peeler and eat either on pasta or instead of pasta with red or white sauce and lots of parmesan. It's one of my favourite things!

I've had those zucchini faux-pasta ribbons, they are great. Thanks, Selena!

Standard joke in Maine is that it's a good idea to lock your car in late summer...so no one sneaks in under cover of dark and leaves you zucchini!

I grow them every second or third year and that seems to be plenty for me.

LOL. To someone that's never heard it before, that is very amusing.
