Just wondering if you saw the NYT Book Review essay by Douglas Brinkley and Johnny Depp (!) about Woody's novel, House of Earth. I never knew he wrote a novel, and after reading this essay, I am adding it to my summer reading list. If you need a link, let me know.

I did it see it - thanks for thinking of me! Woody Guthrie was incredibly prolific and multi-talented. He wrote children's songs, Yiddish songs - so many different thing. His daughter Norah has been instrumental in preserving his work and bringing more and more of it to the public. I'm glad someone took an interest in his novel.

Woody Guthrie's Wikipedia page gives a good idea of the breadth of his work.

I went to look for it on amazon only to learn it never was published. I somehow missed that when reading the essay.

Right, Depp and Brinkley plan to publish it. Maybe you'll put it on next summer's reading list! :)
