11.11.2011

best date i'll ever see in my whole entire life

It's 11.11.11 !!! And I'm posting this at 11:11, of course.

10.10.10 was cool, and 12.12.12 will be cool, too. And I love palindromes, so 12.22.21, if I'm around for it, will be totally kickass. But 11.11.11 is the best.

What can I say? This is the kind of thing you either like or you don't. I like!

Happy Nigel Tufnel Day!

Can you hear the sustain?

(December 34, 1956 must have been cool, too.)

But how does Hitler feel about The Nigel Tufnel Day Appreciation Society and Quilting Bee in Favor of Declaring & Observing November 11, 2011 as Nigel Tufnel Day (in Recognition of Its Maximum Elevenness)?

Glad you asked!

It must have been awesome.

I guess November 11, 1111 was really the ultimate date. Unfortunately the calendar was different then and practically no one knew what day it was or could read.

I offer this date with a smile, no need to go gloomy--my mother died 9/9/99. She was always a tidy lady.

:)

1/1/1 must have been a keeper too, except that no one knew it was A.D.-time yet....

That was thoughtful of her. ;)

...which shows how stupid this whole calendar thing is. 5771 is only slightly better.

12/22/21 will be my 41st birthday. I'll have to think of something epic to do with it.

Cool!

Isn't it funny when you see your birthday mentioned somewhere? Whenever I'm reading something, and something happened the same day as my birthday, it's always a little weird.

Best tweet I saw today:

It's 11/11/11, not 11/11/11. Damn Americans!

I hope all the children turning 11 today get fantastic birthday parties.

I'm more of a "julian day" nerd than MMDDYY, but anyway, a search on "julian day" led me to this cute webpage, where I find out that in the French Republican Calendar, today is 22 Brumaire an 220 de la Révolution. That's a lot of 2's.
