canadian weblog awards winners announced

The winners of the the 2010 Canadian Weblog Awards have been announced.

I am pleased to note that wmtc was honoured with second place in the political category. Congratulations to my blog-friend Tornwordo, whose Sticky Crows won third place in the LGBTQ category.

Although I'm quite certain wmtc is not the second-best political blog in Canada, or anything even close, I do appreciate the recognition and all the hard work Schmutzie and the other Ninjamatics put into the awards. Thank you very much, and congratulations to all the nominees and winners.

The full list of winners is here.

You're going to take seriously a so-called juried award that chooses Stephen Taylor best political blog????????????

I'll take popularity contests over that kind of judgement any day of the week.

I'm merely posting an announcement and acknowledging it. Nothing more, nothing less.

Can't imagine why that would be a problem for you.

In case I'm not being clear, I don't "take seriously" any blog awards. They're all meaningless fun.

And yet fern posted about these exact same awards 11 days ago.

Yes, I saw that earlier post at the time.

Fern Hill and her teammates at DJ! are excellent bloggers. Various members of that blog have had problems with wmtc from time to time. Waddayagonnado.

I only recall leaving one observation, after a decidedly snarky post you wrote regarding those who use erm, ... and other similar expressions.

What do you make of the language skills on display in this comment left by one of your supporters?

I thought there had been others, but I might be confusing DJ! with the folks at A Creative Revolution.

See here (long version) and here (more manageable version). He was banned from this blog years ago - probably 4 years at this point - but is still obsessed with me.

His latest game is to show up at blogs I link to or blogs by people who comment on wmtc, trying to stir up shit.

Then he leaves me a comment saying something like "don't worry, you stupid bitch, fern hill won't be bothering you anymore" to alert me to his post.
