two-tier creep

I don't worry about H1N1, and I can wait until every last high-risk person in Canada has been vaccinated before I even think about getting injected. But the news that patients at private clinics had access to vaccines while the general public did not is much more disturbing than the risk of influenza.

Flu and flu-panic will pass. Privatization, queue-jumping and a two-tiered system could kill us.

The public health agency screwed up on a whole bunch of things with the pandemic. Almost everything about the logistics.

Yes, so I hear. I hope some of the screw-up sticks to Harper, but his teflon coating is very thick.

L-Girl--

Not sure about Ontario, but out here in Lotusland our Premier is actually making the case that it would be 'irresponsible' of him NOT to give the vaccine to private clinics.

Don't panic.

Thank heavens the Calgary Flames were given preferential treatment. If the pandemic is as bad as people are making it out to be (I'm thinking Stephen-King-end-of-the-world style, corpses-in-the-streets disaster), at least the hockey players might be protected. Things will be so bad with all of our loved ones dying around us - we'll need our tv entertainment more than ever. I want to hear that actors are next in line, if they haven't already been vaccinated.

Oh yes! Celebrities next, please. In fact, the bigger the celebrity, the larger the dose should be.

And please, deliver the vaccination to their home. We don't want famous people to suffer the indignity of entering a public clinic or -gasp!- waiting in line!
