Quebeckers are not less nationalistic than the RoC, quite the contrary. They just locate it differently.
I thought someone would quickly point that out. Thanks. :)
Here's another great poll result:As it turns out, the most recent poll about equal marriage rights was conducted just five weeks ago by Angus Reid Strategies. They polled over 4000 people across three countries, including 1,006 Canadians. The result: 84% of Canadians believe that same-sex couples should have the same legal rights as straight couples. Of those, 73% support full-on same-sex marriage and the remaining 27% support civil unions with all the same legal rights. The anti-gay side—Canadians who believe that gay couples should have no legal rights whatsoever—polled at 11%, a segment rapidly approaching the single digits. The remaining 4% were “not sure.”From Slap Upside the Head
Which leaves open the question of why Quebecers are less likely to support war.
Hm, good question. I have always thought it was that the major wars were being fought on behalf of empires that (at worst) oppressed or dominated Quebec or (at best) excluded it. A French vs English thing. In a similar vein to how many Irish people resented their young men dying in WWI, or supported the French when it was France vs England. But as I'm not from Quebec or don't even have a deep understanding of its culture, this is just a guess.

A French vs English thing.Though the two most major wars of the last century were fought to a large extent in defence of France.
I'm thinking about this and currently still stuck on "Well, duh, what else do you expect them to do?" Can't articulate yet why it feels well duh to me.But as a purely unfounded theory: what if it's because they have less US media influence?
Quebeckers is progressive in so many ways. Too bad they don't treat animals particularly well (I realize that's a sweeping generalization but I think you know what I mean).
