thanksgiving in high park

My mother's flight is delayed (what's new), so while we wait...

On Monday of Thanksgiving weekend, we met our friends James and Lori in Toronto's High Park for a pup play date.

Tala and Cody are always happy to see their friends Denim and Cobalt. But Allan and I were especially happy to finally take them to High Park. We had been waiting until Tala was a bit more mature and settled in, since the off-leash area is not completely fenced in.

Now that we've tried it, I think we'll go there for special park time instead of Jack Darling in Port Credit. It's no farther away, and while some gas-line construction is in progress at Jack Darling, this is an excellent substitute. The off-leash play area is large, and there's a great loop of trails and walking paths. Tala has to be on-leash for much of that, because there are bicycles and other non-dog traffic, but there's plenty of off-leash for her and it makes a nice mini-hike.

Here are a few samples of James' photos from that day; more are here. And if you like this, check back, as I think James is still uploading. It's great having a photographer for a friend. We don't bring a camera, and still end up with such nice photos.

After the park, Allan and I had a pub lunch, then home for baseball, and the Red Sox won. That's my idea of a lovely Thanksgiving.

They're all up now. I didn't take as many as usual, because I'd accidentally brought the small memory card sfor the camera. As usual, I picked out the best of the bunch and threw those up. I was particularly pleased with the Cody photos, as black dogs are hard to shoot. And I was very pleased at the time that Cody seemed to be enjoying herself so much on the walk, too!

I noticed that! Now I know why. :)

It is SO hard to get good photos of her. Yours are the best we have.

Yeah, me too. She loves to be outside, loves long walks. I'm happy to see that.

GREAT photos. I looked at the others and saw Tala enjoying the hose, as you have described before.

And James' puppy has grown so much!

They are great, aren't they? We are really lucky James loves dogs!

I'm glad you remember Tala and her friend the hose. Many people loved the pics on this post.

Denim has grown greatly in size and capacity for mischief.

Leah, Gibson and I were at High Park on the Sat and the Sun of Thanksgiving weekend--so close! We'll have to horn in on all the fun the next time we're down!

Ah, so close! Our weekend work schedule makes it hard to make plans. But if you're ever around on a stat holiday, let us know...
