canadian blog awards voting is now open

EDITED WITH CORRECTED INFORMATION

Voting in round one of the Canadian Blog Awards is now open.

Wmtc is nominated in three different categories. That's a bit ridiculous, as far as I'm concerned, but if you'd like to vote, feel free. You can vote once per round. One vote per IP address, which means partners, roommates and other families get one vote per household. Not fair!

Allan blog - which last year won Best Sports Blog! - is nominated again. Now, he does care about this award. He's at a disadvantage, since the sport in question is not in season, so his regular readership is more limited. So if you'd like to indirectly help wmtc by helping Joy of Sox, please do!

Voting is here.

More specifically:

Best Sports Blog

Best Political Blog

Best Progressive Blog

Best Blog

(What can I say? The man is my biggest fan.)

Sorry for any confusion, but this year it's only one vote per week, per category.

Thanks. I corrected that.

Will we get reminders when the next round begins? How many rounds are there? And if I have a different computer at work, can I vote a second time? What about two different computers at home?

Work and home will be two votes, as for the two computers, that would depend on how they are hooked up to the internet. I tried on my laptop and then went to the family and could not vote again due to both computers being on the wireless network.

Yup, just tried that myself. Same wireless network, so it wouldn't take my second vote. Oh, well. Seems more reliable than the American process for counting votes...

I just pull the 'net out of the air with my laptop, so you're getting two separate votes from our house!

You betcha. :)

How many rounds are there?

Two. In all honesty, I don't expect to make it to the second round. But I'll be happy if I do.

And if I have a different computer at work, can I vote a second time?

Yup, two IP addresses, two votes.

What about two different computers at home?

As s1c said, it depends how you connect. Most people couldn't (as you learned) because they're at the same IP address. Jere, on the other hand is a bandwidth thief, so he can.

Thanks Jere! :)

If I recall from December 2006, Jere guaranteed that you'd reach Round 2.
