wmtc2

The party's today! I'm excited. The weather looks beautiful, Allan's got the whole weekend off, and I feel like I'm on vacation. There's been a flurry of last-minute cancellations, of course; that seems to be inevitable. I've learned not to worry about who can't make it, and just enjoy the company of who shows.

Last year, we actually knew very few of our guests before they arrived. It was more like an internet meet-up than a regular party. This year, it feels like our friends are coming over. That is a great feeling.

Have a great time at wmtc2! Sorry we'll have to miss it this year.

As you know, L, I am in Denver, Colorado, attending a national conference of physical therapists ("physiotherapists" in Canada). Naturally, I have met PTs from all over the US and a few different countries. Among them, I met a woman who was born and raised in Saskatchewan and then spent her young adulthood in the Yukon. She has lived in Hawaii for the past 30 years. I told her that my husband and I have contemplated moving to Canada.

She responded, "Yes, and of course, there's that 'we move to canada' website. Everyone was talking about it, particularly right after the 2004 election."

"That's my sister-in-law!!" I exclaimed. "It's so cool that people in Hawaii know her blog!"

"Oh, yes," she replied, "EVERYONE was talking about it."

So, Laura, you are THAT famous, even in Hawaii! I thought you would like to know that, especially on wmtc2 Day.

Holy shit.

Are you sure she meant wmtc and not some other website? It sounds like you are.

Wow.

Thanks, Marcie!! I hope you're having a great time in Denver, enjoying the conference.

I certainly had a great time! Lots of shade, lots of nibblies, lots of amazing conversation and dog play to watch.

It was marvellous. Thanks once again to L-Girl and Redsock for a smashing hit!
