march on washington january 27

In case you're not aware of this, there will be a huge March on Washington on Saturday, January 27, to demand an end to the war on Iraq.

Every peace and justice group will be organizing buses. Religious organizations, women's groups, queer groups, environmental, student, labour, civil rights, disability rights - everyone you can think of is organizing for a massive demonstration.

Contact any local progressive organization to find out how you can get involved, or just Google "march on washington january 27" and your state or city.

Get on a bus.

Go.

There's also a march on the Pentagon on March 17th.

Sure. Thanks for the 1/27 notice. I knew the March one was planned a while ago, and when you said January I thought it was a mistake or something. So, I'm glad there will be a sooner march.

Was in Times Square tonight. You know that middle island? It was packed with people with signs, facing the Army recruitment station and doing chants and stuff.

Cool, I'm really glad to hear it.

The Jan 27 March should be huge. Marching on the Pentagon is a riskier, lots of people can't chance it b/c they can't risk arrest. So I think the January action was organized to attract bigger numbers. Let's hope.

I find it very weird to miss these events. We really can't afford the transportation and the time off now. It feels weird to be exhorting people to go to something that I myself can't attend.
