whinge

I didn't go. I'm feeling stressed and anxious, and didn't want to be around people. With packing and unpacking looming, I need maximum time to do my own work, and to have some down-time to myself.

This week, we're going to check out south Scarborough, especially the Guildwood, Rouge Hill and Birchcliff Village neighbourhoods. If it seems like a good fit, there are lots of ads to answer. We'll continue to look in Etobicoke South (Long Branch, Mimico, Lakeview) and keep our eyes out for anything in Mississauga South (Port Credit, Lorne Park Estates, Clarkson). And, thanks to friend of wmtc Doug, I now know there are places in The Beaches we can afford.

I'm very sure we'll find something really nice in our price range. I'm not worried about that. I just positively dread the prospect of packing and unpacking. (Not so much the moving part, because I'm not going to be doing that work!) It feels like such an intrusion on my time.

Sorry for being so whiny. Thank goodness I can get some of this out of my system here.

Moving is by far one of the most stressful things one can do. There's every reason to dread i and whine. I will be doing the same when I move next year.

I'm already not looking forward to it. I already know I'll miss my house -- and I'm still in it!

Exactly. And we did it all a mere 14 months ago. Whine, whine, whine. :)

My wife and I have moved an average of once every two years since we started living together. The average has been increasing because moving is such hell. I really feel for you.

Hope you find something soon!

Ouch.

In my late teens and early 20s, I moved constantly, often twice in one year. I never had enough money or help, it was always a horrible strain.

But since Allan and I have been together, the rate has slowed considerably. In 20 years together, we've lived in only 4 places. (A: I don't count 11th street, where we lived together for only 1 week!)

Consequently, we've acquired a lot more stuff - making the moves infrequent, but much more difficult.

Thanks for your sympathies and good wishes. :)

M@, how was Boston?

I've moved 10 times in my adult life and each time it drives me nuts. I am already stressing about the big move next summer.

I hope you find a great place.

Ah, finally caught up here. Boston was at best okay. It was interesting, we didn't hate it, in fact it was quite nice and comfortable... but it wasn't inspiring. We go back to NYC whenever we can, and I LOVED what I saw of Philly and want to go back there too... but it felt like Boston was kind of mundane. I'm glad we're visiting NYC in December.

We did go see a Bruins game though. Probably the highlight of the trip. Anyhow, if I get my blog post about it done, I'll let you know...

You're so smart.

Or, er, I mean, I agree. :)
