Two months ago I was thinking of ending this blog on the first anniversary of our moving to Canada. But that day has passed, I've gotten a second wind and now I'm thinking about a renovation.

Loyal reader and infrequent commenter Mike asked if I had thought about getting my own domain name. I hadn't thought about it, but man, once the idea was in my head, I liked it more and more. So Mike, you might not comment often, but you've had a huge effect on wmtc!

And so, I am pleased to announce wmtc's future address: www.wmtc.ca. (Does this make me master of my domain?)

I also want to overhaul the blog's look. Several readers suggested using the design of the wmtc book, and Allan would like to see an Ontario license plate reading "wtmc". I like both ideas. I'm going to contact the person who designed the book jacket and see what he has to say.

I still want to use Blogger, because I really like it, compared to Wordpress, Typepad or other blogware I've seen.

This will take a while; it's not like I have a lot of time to dedicate to this. But stay tuned, I'll get there.

I'm tickled you're taking this to the next level. Good luck.

PS. Loving the Seinfeld reference!

I can tell you that as a blogging novice, creating LWB has been exciting and fun. I've been thinking of buying LWB.ca and rerouting traffic to masonick.com.

I don't know why, but owning your own little address on the web, and not part of a bigger blogging system makes you feel like a homeowner right by the Global superhighway. Can't wait to see the result!

Dot CA? Isn't it odd; I blush to confess, that didn't occur to me. Even now I'm used to thinking in doc-com terms. After that brief flash of surprise reading the address, I felt that splash of recognition, like when I see the flag. You made the right call, I think. :)

Thank you! I tried .org, but it was taken, and didn't want .com (although it is also taken, but I wouldn't have wanted it if it had been available). Allan thought of .ca, and yes, it was perfect!

I'm glad you didn't close it down.
