puppy news

She was placed in a good home.

It's great news. So why did I almost start to cry when I heard?

Could it be I'm a little closer to being ready for another dog than I thought? I thought about the puppy all weekend. I even thought of a name.

But she found a loving home, and there are plenty of dogs waiting for us when we're both truly ready. All good. Sniffle, sniffle.

Good news for the puppy, although she could have had a even more wonderful mommy.

Have you thought about going to a local shelter?

Aw shucks, David, thanks.

When we're ready, we'll definitely go to a shelter. But supposedly we're not ready yet?

If the opportunity presents itself again, we might become ready. :)

I have two lovely german shepherds that prolly would not mind some visitations with Auntie Laura :-)

They're German Shepherds?! (How did I not know that?)

You guys will have to come over and let the dogs romp around in our backyard with Cody.

Often! :)

BTW, tonnes of new photos of my mother's new puppy, Mattie, on my Flickr account.

This one is my favourite.

She is adorable!

You are such a good animal photographer. You really could have a second career in that if you wanted to.

Knowing what I do about the world of freelance photography - not unlike that of freelance writing - it's just as well you don't. The life of a freelancer has been known to kill the enjoyment and artistry of more than a few creative minds.

But your photographs are really great, and I especially love the ones of animals.

Thanks. We were thinking of starting to hawk our photos in pubs & such, but the layoff kinda put that on hold.

The main thing with the animal photos is to avoid shots of them sitting quietly on the floor in the middle of the frame. Those are a groat a gross on Flickr (though there are lotsa great animal shots there, too). You hafta work an interesting angle or action into it.

Lemme know if you have any particular favourites of Mattie. I always want more comments. ;)

I even like those shots, if the animal is cute enough. :)

I'm sure I have plenty of favourites... but at the moment I must avoid the giant time-sucking machine that is Flickr. :)

I know you have a soft spot for shepherds (Cian and Athena are going to love you...) and I came across this the other day.

Who knows, maybe someone needs a home :-)
