spiderman

I've wanted to link to this for days, but it seemed too far off topic. But hey, what's the point of blogging if you can't post whatever you want?

Check out this video clip. Whether or not you appreciate the game of baseball, you can marvel at what this man does. It's as great a catch as you'll ever see.

Gary Matthews Jr. steals a home run.

Here's the catch Redsock is comparing it to. Another view of it is here, with Japanese audio. It saved the game.

On a personal blog, nothing that interests you can possibly be off topic.

Well, I have certain guidelines for myself. But they're elastic. :)

What a catch!

Remember the first impression I told you I had when I went to a baseball game (Dodgers in this case). Was mesmorized by the whole atmosphere, but then was thinking - those guys have huge asses. Mr. Matthews is no exception, but that is one acrobatic move.

I'll never forget it. You had been in the country for like a minute and a half or something?

My grandmother had a great appreciation for that fact.

LOL

Baseball - and baseball uniforms - are great for that view.

I think it is the white baggy uniform that accentuates it. My seat was in the nose bleedsection (where did that name come from?), but still you couldn't miss it.

Laura, to answer your question, I had been in the country less than 3 months. It was the first time I saw a big crowd that was predominantly white. Our first home was not too far from the flash point of the 1992 LA riots.

Crap. The video has been removed.

Heights are supposed to give people nosebleeds. :)

What an experience that must have been, as a recent immigrant, and a teenager. Whew.

The big asses you mean? Incidently, the word verfication is "arscah." I am not kidding. Here is the link to that image. I don't know if it will work for you.
