global

I wanted to draw your attention to a new blog, World Community. Started by Rui Rocha, from Portugal, it's a global community, offering varying perspectives from all over the world. It's an interesting mix.

Although I was very flattered to be asked, I declined to join. You know me, I'd take the obligation to post in another blog too seriously, and it would become one more thing to stress over. There's still no Maple Leaf on this list, though. I thought maybe one of you would like to fill that spot.

So how are you enjoying this land of ice and snow these days, L? :)

Hee hee. I'm managing to stay cool. Well, cool-ish.

It's much nicer living in a house with trees near a lake than it is living in on the top floor of an apartment building. We used to have several window A/Cs going 24/7. Even when it cooled off outside, it never, ever cooled off inside, from June to late September. (And even when we weren't home, we couldn't let the dogs suffer.)

We would basically hide in the air-conditioning all summer.

So it's much better here in that respect. We're totally loving grilling dinner and hanging out outside whenever it's not raining.

The lake can be a big asset in weather like this. But it can also be miserable in Feburary...
