Party at chez wmtc! We're hoping to see old friends and family from New York and beyond, new friends from Toronto, and blog friends we've never met. Later on, I'll be asking people to email me for specifics. For now, mark you calendar: Saturday, June 17.

Now, don't you think we move to canada is a blog deserving of more recognition? Come on, how many bloggers invite you to parties? Vote by leaving a comment here.

Hee hee. Assuming nice weather, we'll mostly be outdoors. Plus you can get from the front door to the back door without touching carpeting. But to get to the washroom...

The Experiment begins!

Yes, regarding the no-shoes-in-house posts from several weeks ago, I meant to say then that our Vermont friends and family always remove their shoes when entering the house. So do our own young-adult children who have lived in California, Oregon, New Mexico, and Massachusetts, though I'm not sure where they learned that. (not at home in New Jersey) Our many friends here in New Jersey who are from India always, always, always remove their shoes when they enter a house. It is a major sign of disrespect to do otherwise, especially for Hindus who have a (small) temple in their home, as they all do.

Also, I detect what I assume is another Canadian expression, l-girl: washroom. Back home we say "bathroom," even if you can't take a bath in it, because it is has only a toilet and sink. How cute. Washroom. It's where you wash.

Yes, I am training myself to say washroom rather than bathroom. It's not easy!

It's been easier to remember the new spellings than it has been to use new expressions in speech.

I'd love to come. But I'll be in Spain. Maybe next time!
